Final idea:
I
then did some adjustments of taking away some parts and changing it to
something else, also added in some repeat sections as it was looking too packed
with loads of different activities and not having enough of some. Therefore,
kept same activities but edited to have different parts of it being shown.

Hey! Hey!
La,
La, La, La, La
Hey!
Hey! Hey!
As
there will be many activities taking place within the music video, therefore
this gives me the advantage of using different camera angles and shots.
Scene 1 - initial idea:
Will be of the trampoline and the two characters will
be shown bouncing off the trampoline. However, the trampoline itself will not
be in the frame but just of the background/sky and have them jumping up and
capture them doing different poses. Using the tripod and adjusting it to a
length where the characters will be shown in the frame will do this. This will
be in beat of the lyrics, as it says "Hey, hey, hey" meaning three
beats I will have one character jump on the first "hey", the other
character on the second "hey" and then both of them jump together and
pose for the last "hey".
Scene 1 - final:
As I did not have time to film the trampoline scene
and also due to the weather being very cold and raining, I had to change this
scene to another part of what I have already filmed. As I filmed quite a lot of
the garden section, I thought I could add these clips to the beginning of the
song before the lyrics start. This would allow me to alter the pace for some
sections and focus more on the editing rather than filming another activity.
Scene 2:
Will be of showing the two characters separately
as it says "You come from here" is sung by Selena which Momina will
be portrayed as therefore Anisa who is playing Demi will be shown and the
second line it is about the person singing therefore Momina will be shown then.
In order to show their outfits as it is talking about their personalities, the
camera will be moving from a down angle shot and the move up but in a close up
shot in order to focus on their outfits. This gives a glimpse of how these two
different characters are.
Scene 3:
Will be in the back garden with one of the characters
with a skipping rope and the other with a hula-hoop. As Demi sings this line -
Anisa will be portrayed as doing something better than Momina. And so Momina
will be trying to skip but fails whereas, Anisa will be hula hooping and does
it well too. The camera will be a wide shot to get the characters and props in
the frame. But will then be moved from Momina to Anisa in time with the lyrics
of the song.
Scene 4:
Is going to be taking place in the park, with the two
characters on the swing, I will be having Momina (tom-boy character) standing
on the swing while Anisa (girly character) sat down. The camera will be a wide
shot and zoomed out in order to get them in the frame the whole time as they
will be swinging.
Scene 5:
Will be of the characters wearing make-up as it is
about them being "cool" therefore, at their age it shows how
appearance is a big part of being cool. However, as Momina is playing the
"tom-boy" character, she will not be able to do the make-up as well
as Anisa but kind of mucks about. Whereas Anisa will be wearing some lip-gloss
and neatening it. The camera can be positioned in different angles, one from
Anisa's side to show what she is doing and the other from Momina's side to show
what she is doing. A mid-shot of them will be shown but positioned in a way to
focus full attention on them and to not get the background in.
Scene 6:
As the lyric mentions about being "freaks",
I thought having a pillow fight would work best as this is what a lot of
children tend to do. The camera will be placed on the tripod and the height
will be adjusted in order to get them in the frame, as they both will be
standing on the bed. The use of a wide shot will enable me to get the
background in.
Scene 7:
This will be taking place in the park, as it will be
of them climbing up the ladder to go down the hill. The camera will be in a
wide shot, but placed at an angle to get as much of the background in for the
audience to know the location is at a park.
Scene 8:
The lyric says about them not being able to
"speak", having them spin around while holding each other’s hands
will show how the speed of them spinning is at a pace where they cannot speak.
The camera will be of a mid-shot as their expressions need to be shown but also
their actions and body movement.
Scene 9:
Is going to be of them having a flour fight, as it is
about them "kicking it off" and "lol", laughing etc.
therefore, this fits in as it will be of them baking cupcakes but then they
start mucking about and chuck flour at each other. At first Momina will start
it off and Anisa will be shocked, then she chucks some back. When the second
line of "lol" begins, they will both start laughing and pointing at
each other.
Scene 10:
This will be filmed in the park, of them playing on
the roundabout. This will have a range of mid shots and close up shots of each
of them.
Scene 11:
This line is sung by Demi, therefore the character
that is girly and so Anisa will be reading a book, this works with the lyric as
it mentions about her being "uncool" and so Momina will be shown as
looking quite annoyed that Anisa is reading book. This will enhance the idea of
it being boring and not something Momina likes yet Anisa
enjoys. This will be shown by a wide shot of them both.
Scene 12:
This continues with the line above therefore, Anisa
needs to be shown as being there for Momina as the words "I got your
back" links to this. Showing this in two different angles, one where the
camera will be positioned at the front and the other at the side.
Scene 13:
This line builds up to the chorus, therefore the beat
increases and so I thought showing them both as playing to the beat would make
it more effective. And so, having Anisa "act" as if she is singing
while holding her hips and Momina playing an air guitar quite energetically.
Scene 14:
For the chorus, I want a similarity to run through
therefore, I will have the first line of them being placed at the front of the
camera and have the same hairstyle as the lyric says "One and the
same" therefore, having them in something that is the same will emphasise
this. This line will be repeated in the next chorus and so I will have the same
idea of the hairstyles but have different style instead. A mid shot of them
both will be best as it helps to capture their expressions.
Scene 15:
The lyrics go quite fast and so I will be keeping the
same background otherwise it will seem too packed if after every line a
different location is shown. Also the camera will continue to be at the similar
position with a mid-shot of them. "Anything but ordinary", this gives
the idea of them doing something quite crazy especially being kids I thought
having the same face paint would boost the idea of activities that children
enjoy. As this will need to be repeated in the next chorus, therefore I thought
it would be ideal to have different looks created. And so this will be of them
with a "scary" look but keeping it quite basic and simple in order to
give the impression that they have been mucking about and doing it themselves.
Scene 16:
An activity where they both enjoy will help to enhance
the words of this line therefore, having them playing a game of when singing
rhymes while clapping hands would work best. This is played very often and by
masses of children during school and so it helps to build that interest from
the audience. A series of mid shot and close ups will be showing this scene.
Scene 17:
This will be taking place in the garden, as there will
already be a few sections of them playing in the garden, and some more of this
can be shown throughout the video. This enables me to work with different
camera angles by having a variety of close ups, wide shots or panning shots.
Scene 18:
This can be done indoors as I will be getting them to
"high five", this helps to build that friendship bond, a wide shot
will be used for this.
Scene 19:
As the lyrics mentions about them "chasing"
a "dream" I thought having them running would really emphasis this.
Therefore, having this done in the park would be ideal, there are many hills
around the park and so I will have them running up one of the hills.
Scene 20:
This will have some more sections of them playing in
the garden, running about and laughing. This will be very natural, as I will
not be literally telling them what to do but just get them to play around in
the garden.
Scene 21:
Having some sections already filmed in the park, I
thought it will be ideal to have them go down the slide, Anisa will be shown
going down the slide while sat down whereas, Momina will be shown walking down the
slide instead. A long shot of them can be used in order to have a variety of
camera works.
Scene 22:
These lines will be about them being each other
"I'm kinda like you"...”You're kinda like me", I will be having
Momina dressed up in clothing that is very girly however, as she is not happy
with the look, she will be taking off her hair band quite aggressively and
chucking it. Anisa on the other hand, will be shown in a hoodie, which she is
not happy with; she will be wearing a t-shirt under the hoodie that says about
style. And so having her shown with the hoodie, then opening it and showing the
t-shirt shows how that is her personality and what she likes.
Scene 23:
"Writing the same song in a different key",
I thought it does not necessarily have to be about them writing lyrics to a
song but having them do some drawing instead. This is another activity that a
lot of children tend to do, as it says about them doing something the same but
having their own twist on it. I thought if they draw the same thing but
different, shows their personality through also by the use of different
colours.
Scene 24:
Another activity that kids enjoy is playing a game of
catch "IT", and so this will be filmed in the garden, different shots
of close ups and wide shots can be used.
Scene 25:
Selena sings these lines; therefore Momina will need
to be shown as either helping Anisa or show that she is with her. In the park,
Momina will be climbing up in the play area, whereas Anisa is unable to do that
and so Momina helps her by holding her leg or arm. A wide shot and a low angle
shot can be used as well in order to show they are at a height.
Scene 26:
Demi sings these lines, and so Anisa will be shown as
tying Momina's shoelace, something which not many children can do. This helps
to show the idea of friends helping out each other even for like the littlest
of things. A close up shot will be used, however angles of this can be shown in
a few ways to not then have the camera positioned at the front of them, as I
will be doing this for other shots.
Scene 27:
The chorus is repeated and so I want to keep a theme
of each line by having the same activity being carried out as well as having
the camera positioned the same. And so they both again will be shown posing at
the front of the camera with another hairstyle they both have. With the camera
being placed at the front of them in level with their height.
Scene 28:
As this line in the first chorus will be of them
having face paint of a "scary look" I thought of having another
character being created that kids tend to have as face paint. And so, I thought
a clown would be very different to the first look. Having them laughing by
shaking their shoulders up and down would help to emphasis the whole clown
look.
Scene 29:
Having filmed quite a bit of the picnic scene, I
thought it will be ideal to have more of these parts shown, however using a
range of shots while filming would keep the interest and also gives a range of
angles that I can edit.
Scene 30:
The rapid changes of different activities being
shown, makes one activity not be completed and also making the filming look
quite messy therefore, I thought of having the same activity above being
carried out for these lines as well. This allows me to experiment with
different angles and transitions.
Scene 31:
For majority sections of the video, I will have the
characters do some short actions in order to fit in with the very fast pace
song. And so having random hand gestures that symbolises their bond, I thought
would be ideal, for this line, they will be clapping their hands. This can be
done either as a close up or a mid shot and the camera angle can be altered
depending on the lighting.
Scene 32:
This scene will be of them shaking their bottoms, as
it says “shaking up the scene,” I thought it will best fit in with having the
actions carry out the line. As it changes to the next line rapidly, I thought I
could get them to do the “whip” move from the “Watch me” song. This then
allowed me to have a change to the video by adding a song that is more current,
and could potentially add some entertainment. Having them do the move at the
exact time of when the song switches to the other one, enables me to change the
camera by having it first zoomed in to their “shaking” action to then zoom out in
order for their “whip” action to be captured.
Scene 33:
For these next lines, I thought it would be too packed
to have another activity within this but to use scenes from other sections but
alter the speed and also have the rewind effect to have a nice blend of it
throughout the video.
Scene 34:
This part of the video was random as I did not at
first plan to film them playing with loom bands and slime. But while filming
and allowing them to have small breaks to play, they were using these
equipments. I thought I could then also film this while they are playing, as I
would not need them to be acting. Having their expressions and actions,
spontaneous, making them satisfied as well.
Scene 35:
During the filming in the park, I had a lot of clips
of them running about so I thought I could just add some of those sections in,
this would then allow me to work on my editing rather than having new scenes
filmed, but to use the camera in a variety of positions and distance.
Scene 36:
Running around and playing got them quite exhausted so
in the park there are some benches, which they were sat on. I thought I could
also film this, have them talking and laughing. The camera positioned at the
front of them in a wide shot.
Scene 37:
When we were getting home from the park, I filmed them
of holding hands while walking; this allowed me to have the camera follow them
at the back, which I had not used for the other scenes. However, not having the
camera zoom while them walking, but for me to hold the camera and walk, would
mean the camera will not be steady but move quite a bit.
Scene 38:
The lyric mentions about them being a “team”, having
them do small actions such as washing hands, just shows their closeness of
always being with each other for the littlest of things. They started blowing
bubbles from the hands, which was also not planned, yet shows their true
personality.
Scene 39:
For the last scene, I thought it would be best to have
one of the activity still be carried out, yet slow the pace down and also have
it fade out to black. This shows an obvious sense as to the video finishing.
